Q&A with Brad Wolff, the Recruiter’s Coach
At Recruiters Websites, we always strive to provide our clients and those within the recruiting industry with the highest quality, most up-to-date recruiting knowledge and insights. Our goal is to be a leading resource and seek out innovators within the industry to share their knowledge.
Recently, we sat down with Brad Wolff, founder and managing partner at The Recruiter’s Coach, to discuss his newest masterclass, The Recruiters Guide to Move from Contingency to Retained Search, and what it means for recruiters.
RW: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I’ve been in the recruiting industry for more than 25 years, both as a recruiter and a recruiting coach. I’ve helped successfully launch and manage firms, having founded two within the last 15 years. Essentially, I know the industry. I know what it takes to succeed, and I use this knowledge and experience to help small and mid-size recruiting firms make more money with less stress. Really that’s what we should all be striving for.
RW: What is your general approach/process and how does this help the firms that you work with?
I’ve been in the shoes of every recruiting firm owner I work with. I have learned from my own mistakes and the mistakes of others. This all gives me a unique perspective, and I use this perspective to take a 360-degree view of your firm, allowing me to better understand your strengths and weaknesses. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel. I want to help you build on your strengths and work to fix the weaknesses that are holding you back.
Beyond that, I take a four-step approach focusing on clarity, discovery, prioritization and execution. Throughout this process, I work with you to improve efficiency and help you take the next step in your recruiting career.
RW: What does this masterclass entail? What should attendees expect?
The Recruiters Guide to Move from Contingency to Retained Search is pretty literal in its name. This masterclass is meant to help recruiters remove any doubt from the process of transitioning from contingency to retained through guided steps and knowledge from someone who has done this before.
Attendees can expect to walk away with an understanding of the four steps required to make this transition. Continued support and one-on-one coaching will ensure that recruiters who attend this course are set up for long-term success—every recruiter I’ve worked with has successfully transitioned their firm from contingency to retained search. As a result of this move, recruiting firms are treated as a trusted advisor instead of a commodity by their clients. They also stop losing time, money and resources when they work on behalf of others.
RW: How can this masterclass help recruiters?
I understand that not every recruiter wants to move from their contingency model, but they really should consider the transition, even if they evolve into a hybrid of both. This masterclass is set up to show you the actual steps involved in moving from contingency to retained quickly and with the least amount of turmoil in the process. When people make this transition, they usually can’t believe that they agreed to their previous way of working.
RW: Thank you for taking the time to talk with us. Any parting thoughts you would like to share?
I really look forward to this masterclass, and I want people to know that this isn’t some cookie-cutter experience. I’ve been where you are, and I understand what it takes to successfully transition between search models. My goals are to alleviate your fears about moving from contingency to retained search and provide you with the knowledge and ongoing support to truly succeed.
Attendees can register for the masterclass, The Recruiters Guide to Move from Contingency to Retained Search, via this Zoom registration.
