You now have a shiny new website and are ready to start spreading the word. Of course, you have the link to the site plastered everywhere, but how do you keep people coming back to your website? Short answer, blog posts.

Now, don’t roll your eyes. Blogs are more than just people ranting with their opinions and splashing it all over social media, after all, that is what Myspace was for, and there is a reason it isn’t around anymore.

Blogs help your recruitment firm by:

  1. Driving traffic to your website
  2. Increasing your SEO reach
  3. Establishes you as an industry leader
  4. Develop client relationships

Let’s break these down a little further.

Driving Traffic to Your Website

Every time you write a blog post you add another indexed page to your website which gives you an opportunity to show up in search engines and drive traffic to your website in organic search. New blog posts tell Google and other search engines that your site is active and it will be checked frequently to see what new content will emerge on your site.

Blogs are also great content for social media. As a recruiter, social media is a great tool to help you reach a large audience at once and having an active blog that leads that potential client to your site.

The biggest take away here is that blogging drives new traffic to your website and works closely with search engines and social media to help you gain new clients.

Increasing Your SEO Reach

Similar to what was said above. When you blog search engines keep watch on your site for new content. Using keywords in your articles that potential clients would use in Google or any other search engine makes you easily found.

Blogging regularly about your business, industry, customer base, and success stories will naturally increase your search keywords and also your results.

Establishes You as an Industry Leader

Showcasing your knowledge of the recruitment world can only increase you and your brand as a leader in your industry. Blogs help highlight your professionalism and your ability to communicate well through written communications.

Having a blog about your industry and skills is a great marketing tool for your business. Through your content, you are showcasing what you know and what you do. You become a knowledge source, and you build your clients trust.

Develop Client Relationships

You have established yourself as an industry leader, you see more traffic to your website through your blog, and now relationships are building. Those viewing your site trust your knowledge and your expertise and they are starting to make a deeper connection to you through your website and blog. Your clients are learning about your business, and they get to do it at their leisure.

Clients like to be informed and appreciated. Through a well-designed and thought out the blog you are doing both.

By now, you should see the potential that blog has for you and your recruitment brand. All that's left if for you to start sharing your knowledge and driving people to your website.

Please note:  it is essential for you always to include a call-to-action, a fancy marketing term to motivate your reader to do something, in your blog post. This is why social media influencers say “like, comment and subscribe.” Those are their calls-to-action.

There you go! Good luck and have fun blogging.
